  1. Atari 800, 800/XL, 130/XE and 5200 Emulator for MS-DOS

  4. Irrespective of whether you are going to compile the emulator yourself
  5. or install a pre-compiled binary version you must obtain a copy of the
  6. Operating System ROMs.
  7.  
  8. The ROM images are distributed within the PC Xformer 2.5 package (other
  9. versions of this program do not contain the ROMs in a suitable format)
  10. which can be downloaded from:-

  14. PC-Xformer contains "ataribas.rom", "atariosb.rom" and "atarixl.rom".
  15. If have the original OS it should be called "atariosa.rom" and if
  16. you have the ROM for the 5200 Games System it should be called
  17. "atari5200.rom".

  19. Installation of the Emulator
  20. ----------------------------

  22. 1. Create a toplevel directory called "atari800" and a subdirectory
  23.    called "roms".
  24.  
  25.    mkdir c:\atari800
  26.    mkdir c:\atari800\roms
  27.  
  28. 2. Copy the Atari800 ZIP file into the newly create "atari800"
  29.    directory and unzip.
  30.  
  31.    copy *.zip c:\atari800
  32.    cd c:\atari800
  33.    pkunzip *.zip
  34.  
  35. 3. Copy the Operating System ROMS into "c:\atari800\roms"
  36.  
  37. 4. Start the emulator by typing "atari800".
